1.The Olympic triathlon distance was 51.5km including 1.5km swim, 40km bike-ride and 10km road run. In 2000, the first Olympic triathlon competition happenned in Sydney,Aurtrilia.The men best result in this competition was 1°48'24" by Simon Whitefiled from Canada, while the women best result was 1°56'00" by Brigitte McMahon from Switzerland. The Chinese woman triathletes 王丹 (Wang Dan) and 史萌 (Shi Meng）participated in this Olympic triathlon.

No Chinese disabled person participated in this Paralympic except on August 28, 2021, the Chinese disabled man 王家超 （Wang Jiachao）won No.4 in the paratriathlon of Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. Wang was the first Chinese disabled male triathlete who competed this paratriathlon. The best result was 59'58" by the man, Alexis Hanquinquant from France at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games while the best female result was 1°4'56" by Lauren Steadman from Great Britain.
7.The seventh one happened on July 31st 2024 in Paris. The best result of women was 1°54'55" by Cassandre Beayugrand from France. The Chinese woman triathlete 林鑫瑜(Lin Xinyu) made a better result for China in this Olympic triathlon event. The best result of men was 1°43'33" by Alex Yee from Great Britain.
